ABOUT HORSLEY HILLS

Horsley Hills or Horsleykonda or Yenugulla Mallamma Konda is a progression of slopes in Andhra Pradesh in Madanapalle Taluka of Chittoor region and is around 9 miles from Madanapalle town. The nearby name of the slope was Yenugu Mallama Konda after a legend of a virtuous elderly person named Mallamma who inhabited the highest point of the slope and was taken care of by elephants (yenugulu). W.D. Horsley, a British gatherer, fabricated his home around 1870 after whom it is named. Rather than the dry and warm encompassing, this region is very much vegetated with cooler environment. This made it alluring as a slope station and a place of interest. One could ponder that what on earth individuals see in Horsley Hill Station that they couldn't fight the temptation to stroke the relieving dim of mists and green of verdure with their eyes. Notwithstanding, precisely this and more reasons are the snare, similar to the curious feel saw while strolling over enormous rocks under the front of haze looming over the slopes and the valley.

Travelers who have found their first love in quite a while feel overpowered to call it 'Andhra Ooty' affectionately. Be a piece of Horsley Hills the travel industry and truly investigate the degrees to which this title suits these slopes.

The experience and choice to investigate the region lays on the shoulders of the travelers not wondering whether or not to plunge to more current areas for change. Situated in Chittoor region, the spot is at 1,265 m from ocean level named after W. D. Horsley-an English official visiting the spot during 1840-43 of British rule.

Trapped in the appeal of the dim hazy greens, he decided to make his home here (which is currently summer home of Governor of Andhra Pradesh) and in this way the spot got the name by which it is known today.
